This is a beautifully detailed, laser engraved and precision cut topographical Map of Cape Cod, Massachusetts with the following interesting stats carved into it:

Cape Cod covers an area of 412 square miles, 65 miles long with a coastline of 560 miles.

In 1602 Mariner Bartholomew Gosnold gave Cape Cod its name.

Pilgrims first landed in Provincetown in 1620.

Plymouth settlement was originally known for fishing, farming and whaling.

In 1930’s the Sagamore and Bourne bridges were built allowing tourism to boom.

Interesting factoid: Cape Cod is a large peninsula, or cape, that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean in the easternmost portion of the state of Massachusetts, in the Northeastern United States. Its historic, maritime character and ample beaches attract heavy tourism during the summer months.

Cape Cod stretches from Provincetown in the northeast to Woods Hole in the southwest. Cape Cod, as defined by the Cape Cod Commission's enabling legislation, is comprised of Barnstable County. The Cape Cod Canal cuts 17.5 miles roughly across the base of the peninsula, and it is often confused as the Cape's western boundary. That boundary in fact extends to include those small portions of the Towns of Bourne and Sandwich which lie on the mainland side of the canal.

Two road bridges cross the Cape Cod Canal: the Sagamore Bridge and theBourne Bridge. In addition, the Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge carries railway freight and limited passenger services onto the Cape. Cape territory is divided into fifteen towns with many villages. (Not all of this information made it onto the map, we just love to read up on the lakes we design)
