Jane Cherry has been involved in wood-working her entire life, and since 2013, has been creating beautiful works of art from driftwood she finds while enjoying her other favorite past-time, paddle-boarding on Lake Norman, NC. If a piece of driftwood catches her eye, she drags it home, sometimes behind her paddleboard, and other times, with the help of her husband, Vince.
She begins the long process of scrubbing, scraping, sawing and sanding, and then, somewhere between 100 to 150 fun filled hours later, these sculptures emerge. What Jane says started as a whim has become her passion, and a blessing. Jane hopes others get as much joy from her art as she has.
