Lake Mead is the largest reservoir in the United States by water volume
At maximum capacity, Lake Mead is 112 miles long, 532 feet at its greatest depth, has a surface elevation of 1,221.4 feet above sea level and 247 square miles of surface area, and contains 26.12 million acre feet of water
The Hoover Dam:
The final block of concrete was poured and topped off at 726 feet above the canyon floor in 1935. Approximately 5 million barrels of cement and 45 million pounds of reinforcement steel had gone into what was then the tallest dam in the world, its 6.6 million tons of concrete enough to pave a road from San Francisco to New York City. Altogether, some 21,000 workers contributed to its construction
The dam stores enough water in Lake Mead to irrigate 2 million acres
