Our maps are made from beautiful birch plywood. Natural variances in the wood grain ensure a unique work of art. Once the map is cut, it is hand sanded multiple times, mounted on a blue board to highlight the water, and given a clear coat for a lustrous wood shine. Standard Engraving:
The Alabama River is formed by the Coosa and Tallapoosa rivers, 7 miles northeast of Montgomery, winds westward to Selma, and then flows southward. Its navigable length is 305 miles with three lock and dams between Montgomery and the Mobile River.
The Alabama unifies the state's eastern rivers, the Coosa and Tallapoosa, and its western rivers, the Cahaba, Black Warrior and Tombigbee.
