This is a beautifully detailed, laser engraved and precision cut topographical Map of Upper Mountain Lake and Lower Mountain Lake in Grafton County, New Hampshire with the following interesting stats carved into it:
- Combined Surface Acres: Approx. 72
- Max. Length: .954 Miles
Interesting factoid: In the book, Haverhill New Hampshire in the Twentieth Century, by Katharine Blaisdell, she writes; “In the beginning, there was just a beaver pond there, surrounded by woods and hills, until in 1963 it was excavated and dammed, creating a thirty-acre lake.”
The two man-made lakes and wooded surroundings dominate the character of this “Four Season Recreational Community.” A proposed third lake, further upstream of the current inlet to the upper/south lake was not developed. It is a wetland valuable in itself as a wildlife sanctuary and settling basin for upstream sediments.
(Not all of this information made it onto the map, we just love to read up on the lakes we design).
