The creation of the lake was noted by the Cleveland County Chamber of Commerce as one of the top five most important events of the 20th century in Cleveland County history.
Interesting factoid: Moss Lake is the site of the “Over the Mountain” Triathalon, part of the Mid-Atlantic region of the USA Triathalon.
