This is a beautifully detailed, laser engraved and precision cut topographical Map of Lake Blalock in Spartanburg County, SC with the following interesting stats carved into it:
- Was constructed in 1983
- Encompasses 1,105 acres
- 45 miles of shoreline
- Dwarf Flowered Heartleaf is a federal endangered plant species that is found around the lake
Interesting factoid: Lake Blalock is formed by the North and South Pacolet River System (the Pacolet River). The North Pacolet River originates in southeast Henderson County, North Carolin, near Saluda. After flowing east into Polk County the North Pacolet flows into northern Spartanburg County. The South Pacolet River originates in Greenville County near Lake Lanier and flows east into northern Spartanburg County to form Lake Bowen. The flow from Lake Bowen then combines with the flow from the North Pacolet River to form Lake Blalock.
(Not all of this information made it onto the map, we just love to read up on the lakes we design).
