This is a beautifully detailed, laser engraved and precision cut topographical Map of the Fulton Chain of Lakes in Herkimer and Hamilton Counties, New York with the following interesting stats carved into it:
- The Fulton Chain of Lakes is a string of eight lakes located in the Adirondack Park in upstate New York.
- The lakes are named for Robert Fulton, inventor of the steamboat, who proposed connecting the lakes to create an Adirondack canal.
Personalize your own map by choosing 3 options from the links below. Each option you choose will be engraved where the corresponding number is shown on the map in the image. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Interesting factoid: The lakes were expanded from 2,762 acres to 3,481 acres in 1798 when the Moose River was dammed at Old Forge. The present dam at Old Forge holds back 6.8 billion gallons of water.
(Not all of this information made it onto the map, we just love to read up on the lakes we design).
